The paint specialist has also bolstered the trailer builder’s in-house operations to ensure the timely rollout of hard wearing trailers with exceptional resale value.

At the final finish stage of the trailer building process, according to Krueger Transport Equipment, the entire steel chassis is sandblasted, undercoated and painted. Krueger goes the extra mile when it comes to achieving the best results, utilising three environmentally friendly painting booths, which are 60’ in length to ensure the biggest trailers are painted and fully sealed.

“With this opportunity we were able to initiate a partnership with Krueger which has led Dulux Auto Refinish Coatings to become the preferred coatings supplier,” he says. “Our partnership continues to grow with the introduction of specific standard operating procedures in maximising throughput in the paintshop. We also implement procedures for specific products to reduce paint consumption while maintaining the quality and final result of Krueger trailers.”

“Dulux FleetShield ULTRABUILD Epoxy Primer is a two-pack epoxy-polyamide primer that has excellent adhesion to metal substrates,” James says. “It has anti-corrosive properties and excellent water resistance. Ultrabuild may be topcoated without sanding up to five days after application of the primer if the temperature is below 20°C. With the use of the newly developed hardener, Ultrabuild Part B – HP, Ultrabuild can be topcoated after 30 minutes.”

He says. “The Fleetshield System Provides Solid, metallic and pearls which can be matched and customised to any single layer 2K colour. Complemented with complete range of ancillary products, primers, clears, hardeners and thinners to suit all temperatures and job sizes.”
